So..my reason to write this is just to clear my mind of negative thoughts. As a coach with many years of experience with my club and Croatian national team, still feel like I am at the beginning of this road. What happened today is just one part of what is going on. Just to remind you, my team was third on WC (group stage) with the same goal difference as Bosnia and Herzegovina, but they qualified because they scored more goals. Okay, I understand that and do not complain about that sort of evaulating, but what agitated me was the way how this matches functioned.
First of all, after first round, Croatia was first (+10) with the same amount of point as Czech Republic. The next day, Croatia had a tie match with Bosnia 34:34 (Bosnia scored the last goal few seconds before end). After second day, Croatia was first with 3 points (+10), Czech Republic was second with 2 points (-2), Germany third with 2 points (-7) and Bosnia and Herzegovina fourth with 1 point (-1). What thrills me was scenario of two last matches. Actually I can write a lot about that game with Czechs but in the end they won with 8 goals (they scored last goal few seconds before end), and Bosnia won against Germany with 3 goals (they also scored last goal few seconds before end). It is too obvious that this kind of scene and drama is almost impossible. But here is possible and if you loose some important match or with one goal, just remind yourself what happened here. Congrats to each team that qualified in quarterfinals and be aware that everything is nothing or even better, that impossible is possible, cheers
