As Grzymislaw and I wrote in the "Lowest Division Cup" threat. We try to start a new Cup this season.

The
Marian Cozma & Oleg Velyky Memorial Cup
(More details about these two unforgotten players are comming from Grzymislaw)

Expected start:
Week 4 this season. DEC 6th

We hope to start with 16 teams.
(edit: and maximum 32 teams)

4 groups with 4 teams. The two best teams of each group are in the quarterfinal...
In case 32 teams 8 groups with 4 teams...

Each place will played out. So the Cup is not over after the group stage.

This Cup is open for all teams from all regions and divisions.

However, with one exception:
Your team should play THB for a minimum of 4 weeks. We hope to minimize BOT-Teams...

Regards
Raner1910

As Raner1910 wrote I am going to tell you the story of that players who died tragically just in last two years.

Marian Cozma
Marian Cozma(born 8.09.1982 - dead 8.02.2009) was a handballer from Romania. He played as pivot. His physical parametres was 2,11 tall and about 120 kilos. His father Petre was also a handballer. Marian started proffesional carrier in 2000 in Dinamo Bucarest. Winning with his first team the romanian league he was going to change the club what he has done on 2006. He moved to the top club in Hungary MKB Veszprem. With that team he won the Hungarian championship couple of times and also Cup Winners' Cup in 2008 when Veszprem defeated Rhein-Neckar Lowen. After that success FC Barcelona wanted to sign him, but he Marian decided to stay in Veszprem for another season. On 8.02.2009 Cozma with his team-mates for MKB Ivan Pesić and Żarko Sesum celebrated their team-mate' son birth and another friend birthday. Suddenly they were attacked by group of about 30 Romani People and one stabbed Cozma in the heart twice. He died in hospital when Pesić and Sesum suffered serious injuries. In normal life he was great personality - always happy and smiling, really loved the life. With his death handball lost a man who could be one of the best pivots ever in couple of years and as well lead Romanian national team(played 60 games for NT) to big succeses maybe even like the generation of Stefan Birtalan made.
It happened more than 1,5 year ago but I remember that as it would have happened yesterday.

It would be something special to play in his and Oleg Velyky memorial cup, so I want to be in that competition.

Now I want to tell you the story of Oleg Velyky second player who died recently and handball fans cannot forget him.

Oleg Velyky
Oleg Velyky was born 14.10.1977 in Browary(former USSR, now Ukraine) and died 23.01.2010 in Kiev. He played on both left back and centre back positions. His physical parametres was 1,89 tall and about 93 kilos. He started proffesional handball carreer in top team of Ukraine - ZTR Zaporozhye. With that club won an ukrainian league many times. In 2001 he moved to TUSEM Essen(former one of top teams in Bundesliga, now out of the top division because of financial problems). With that team played in the bundesliga and was one of the topscorers that time. In 2003 he was diagnosed with melanoma(type of cancer). Started the treatment quick and after 18 months everythimg was looking like the disease is defeated. So Oleg came back to proffesional handball and won the EHF-Cup in 2005. After that season he moved to SG Kronau/Oestringen(later that club changed the name for Rhein-Neckar Lowen). He was a leading player there and again one of the topscorers and also one the most efficient players on 7-m. With that team was a German Cup finalist twice(2006,2007). Since 2004 he was also german citizen. In 2005 played for the NT of Germany on WC finishing only 9th. In 2006 he suffered very serious knee injury(rupture crucial ligament) and was out for couple of months including Euro 2006. He was called to the NT again for the WC 2007 in Germany. Unfortunately he missed all tournament because of injury, but he wasn't replaced and get gold medal when Germany defeated Poland in the final. Next year was a part of German team finishing 4th in Euro 2008 in Norway. In march 2008 he was diagnosed with cancer again. Started the treatment again, but hoping to be back soon changed the club for playing in the Champions League HSV Hamburg since 2008/09 season. Came back for a while and played 3 matches that season, but that time the disease was stronger than him and Oleg passed away in his home country's capital Kiev on 23.01.2010. He was married and had a son. With amazing 1276(including 329 from 7-m)in 211 matches he is now 24. topscorer ever in Bundesliga. In terms of only an average of goals in a match with more than 6 goals he is propably in the top 10 ever in Bundesliga.
